Pop over to Bethnal Green every Sunday for the prettiest market in all of London. This famous and historic market is the best place to find freshly cut flowers, succulents and house plants. What a great way to spruce up a new home?

2. Victoria Park
Affectionately known as Vicky Park, this beautiful piece of land in Hackney has two cafes, two playgrounds, a skatepark and sport facilities. Just the other side of the Olympic Park, it would make a lovely day trip from Upton Park!

3. V&A Museum of Childhood
For those with kids or hankering for a blast from the past, head over to the V&A Museum of Childhood for a look at everything from dolls houses, toys, games and relics from childhood dating back to the 1700s.

4. Spitalfields City Farm
An oasis in the city, this farm is free for all to visit. Come and see the animals and the gardens, or volunteer to make a difference at this unique community space.

5. Boxpark Shoreditch
Okay we know, shopping is technically not free (unfortunately). However, window shopping definitely is! Wander around Boxpark in Shoreditch to see all the latest pop up shops, independent stores and coolest clothes.

6. Walthamstow Wetlands
Head along to the wetlands to see this beautiful reserve that provides a home to many important wildlife species. You can enjoy the nature, get some peace from the city and learn all about the wetlands and migrating birds. A great family day out!

7. God’s Own Junkyard
Neon lights fill this funky art store in East London. Showcasing the work of late neon artist Chris Bracey, this collection of work is situated in a salvage yard in Walthamstow. If you love a good Instagram – this is the place to go!

8. Brick Lane Market
The famous Brick Lane Market is an unmissable highlight of East London. Open every day but best on a Sunday, this market has a whole range of vintage and second hand wares, as well as some incredible food.
